Lisa Presley To Live At Graceland? Not True!
Elvis' Family History › Gladys and Vernon › Elvis › Lisa Marie › Riley Keogh › Benjamin Keogh ›Recently, a UK tabloid ran an article saying that visitorship to Graceland is on the decline and Lisa Marie Presley has ordered exhibit enhancements and is moving into Graceland to look after things and "save" Graceland. There is also an extensive quote attributed to our CEO Jack Soden, indicating concerns about visitorship. This story, in full form and abbreviated form, is now making its way into mainstream "legitimate" media.
None of this is true. It's a tabloid fabrication. Absolutely ridiculous.
It's possible that the quotes attributed to Jack Soden are an out-of-context amalgamation of quotes from interviews given a few years ago when tourism was in a slump nationwide and there had been a sudden further drop in travel immediately following 9/11. Some quotes also seem to be completely fabricated. The fact is that tourism nationally has been on the upswing. Visitorship to Graceland is very strong and is on a very healthy, steady rise. All is well at Graceland. Lisa is not moving in. Lisa has not ordered exhibit enhancements. Actually, our staff recently enhanced all the Elvis exhibits as part of our year-long commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Rock 'n' Roll and the 50th Anniversary of the start of Elvis' career.
About once a year since the 1980s, there has been a tabloid story somewhere in the world saying that Lisa is closing Graceland or moving in or something like that. This always touches off a rash of calls and mail.

The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
